As part of its core mandate to support critical sectors within the Igbanke community, the Association of Igbanke Professionals (AIP) has, over the years, demonstrated unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of residents through the equipping and improvement of healthcare facilities at the Igbanke General Hospital.

Two key interventions by AIP in this regard stand out as pivotal contributions to strengthening healthcare delivery in the town:

  1. Provision and Installation of Mosquito Nets – 2001

In 2001, AIP embarked on a preventive health initiative aimed at reducing the spread of malaria—a leading cause of illness in the region. The Association provided and installed mosquito nets across various wards and sections of the Igbanke General Hospital. This timely intervention helped improve the sanitary conditions of the hospital and created a safer environment for patients, particularly pregnant women, children, and the elderly who are most vulnerable to mosquito-borne diseases.

The project was not only a direct response to the public health needs at the time but also an effort to promote long-term disease prevention through simple, cost-effective measures.

  1. Furnishing and Water Supply for the Doctor’s Residence – 2010

Recognizing the importance of a well-supported healthcare workforce, AIP in 2010 undertook the furnishing of the Igbanke General Hospital, as well as the installation of a water supply system to service both the hospital and the doctor’s residence.

The project included:

  • Provision of essential furniture and fittings to improve hospital operations and patient care.
  • Installation of a reliable water system to ensure clean, running water was available at all times, enhancing hygiene and daily functionality.
  • Support for the doctor’s residence to promote staff retention, comfort, and round-the-clock service delivery.

This intervention significantly improved the working and living conditions of medical personnel while also enhancing the quality of care accessible to patients.

Through these strategic efforts, the Association of Igbanke Professionals has continued to play a central role in strengthening public health infrastructure in Igbanke. These initiatives are a reflection of the Association’s proactive approach to development and its belief that quality healthcare is a fundamental right for all citizens.

AIP remains committed to identifying and addressing the evolving healthcare needs of the community, upholding its enduring motto: “Pillar for Development.”
