Over the years, AIP has grown significantly in both membership and influence, emerging as a formidable force committed to the socio-economic transformation of Igbanke. With a robust welfare system that includes various support initiatives and a Group Life Insurance Scheme for members, the Association has remained committed to its motto:
“Pillar for Development.”
This motto is not just a slogan—it defines the very essence of AIP’s interventions and achievements, including:
- Reconciliation of Aggrieved Factions (1998/1999):
AIP played a vital role in mediating disputes within the Igbanke General Union (IGU), Lagos Branch, fostering unity and a renewed sense of purpose. - Igbanke National Conference (2000):
AIP convened this landmark event to engage Igbanke indigenes across various sectors in dialogue on the theme: “The Political Evolution of Igbanke Kingdom and its People.” - Rejuvenation of IGU Lagos:
Recognising the IGU as a legitimate platform for engaging with government, AIP has supported the restructuring and sustenance of IGU Lagos, including its monthly meetings. - Government Engagements:
The Association has actively engaged government officials at various levels to advocate for development projects in Igbanke. - Community Projects:
AIP has directly executed several impactful projects, such as:- Provision and installation of mosquito nets at Igbanke General Hospital (2001)
- Furnishing of the hospital and installation of a water supply system at the doctor’s residence (2010)
- Provision of street signage for major roads in Igbanke
- Member Engagement and Family Unity:
AIP fosters camaraderie among members and their families through end-of-year celebrations, couples’ outings, and other social gatherings.
