The Igbanke community has recently experienced a significant transformation in its infrastructural landscape with the construction of critical road networks linking major parts of the town. This development marks a historic moment in the community’s journey towards modernization and accessibility, bringing relief to residents and fostering new opportunities for socio-economic growth.

At the heart of this achievement is the visionary leadership of the former Executive Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, whose administration conceptualized and executed the road construction projects. Widely regarded as monumental in the history of Igbanke, these roads have not only improved internal mobility but also enhanced connectivity between the various quarters of the community—namely Ake, Idumodin, Igbontor, Olije, Omolua, and Ottah.

Prior to this intervention, many of the town’s roads were in deplorable condition, making transportation difficult, especially during the rainy season. The newly constructed roads have significantly improved the daily lives of the people, facilitating better access to markets, schools, health centres, places of worship, and fostering economic and social interaction among residents.

Community leaders, residents, and stakeholders have unanimously commended the effort, describing it as a long-awaited response to the infrastructural neglect the town had suffered for decades. The road project is seen not only as a physical development but also as a symbol of inclusion and recognition of Igbanke’s strategic importance in Edo State.

The Association of Igbanke Professionals (AIP), in particular, has lauded the project, noting that infrastructure such as roads forms the backbone of community advancement. AIP further encourages future administrations to sustain this momentum by investing in other critical sectors such as healthcare, education, water supply, and youth empowerment.

With the successful execution of these road projects, Igbanke is now better positioned for further development, inward investment, and improved quality of life for its residents. This infrastructural milestone stands as a testament to what is possible when responsive governance aligns with the genuine needs of the people.
